FSB's manifesto for better Britain Key victory over business rates Small businesses to create 2m jobs - survey LiveWire encourages young entrepreneurs Support for age campaign Minister visits growing franchise Creative agency doubles turnover COMMENTARY |
Support for age campaign The FSB has added its support to the Age Positive campaign by distributing literature on the issue to all members. The campaign surrounds age discrimination in employment and encourages employers to be age positive. Advantages include increased loyalty and commitment from staff - meaning less recruitment costs; a much wider employment pool from which to choose; the ages of your staff can mirror the ages of your customers; and you will be ahead of Government legislation on age discrimination, which is set to arrive in 2006. The scheme, which is being run by the DfEE and the FSB, has a voluntary Code of Practice, which is available by calling 08457 330360. There is also a series of awards recognising good practice in this field and a website is set to launch later this year. For the full News, see pages 4-5, 7-8, 27 of the June/July 2001 issue of First Voice |
