LiveWire encourages young entrepreneurs

Shell LiveWire, the international support scheme for young entrepreneurs aged 16 to 30, has enhanced the services it provides to help start-ups and business development. A recent survey among people in the age group revealed that more than four in 10 would like to start their own business and would prefer to be their own boss than become teachers, lawyers or police officers. Almost three-quarters used the Internet on a regular basis.

In response to this, LiveWire has produced a range of new material, including case studies, business ideas and advisory literature. There is also additional support provided by www.shell-livewire.org, which has now developed a small business service website. Online support includes help with developing business ideas, a downloadable business kit, help with market research and writing a business plan, and links to local co-ordinators.
