FSB's manifesto for better Britain

In the run up to the General Election, the FSB handed its own manifesto proposals to representatives of each of the main political parties. The Federation hopes that whoever is in power after 7 June will take up as many of the proposals included in the document.

The manifesto, Towards a Better Business Environment, includes policies to cut red tape, boost employment, improve the framework for e-commerce, create more access to finance and improve small business support services.

Other policy proposals include: a review of the Climate Change Levy and IR35; increasing the option for more employees to claim the Working Families Tax Credit direct; establishment of a business crime compensation fund; increasing the modern apprenticeship scheme; reform of employment tribunals; tax chargeable on first-year profits to be deferred; tax incentives for use of alternative energy and recycling programmes; "business customer contracts"to be published by local authorities.
