Deregulation welcomed

The Regulatory Reform Bill, announced during the Queen's Speech in December, has been welcomed by the FSB. The Bill aims to allow deregulation to take place without taking up primary legislative time, as well as making it easier to simplify existing regulation, such as fire safety regulation.

Lord Haskins, the Chairman of the Better Regulation Task Force, has also welcomed the Prime Minister's announcement that Government Departments should give businesses at least 12 weeks to respond to consultation exercises and produce guidance at least 12 weeks before new regulations come into force.
